Sisters of the Humility of Mary
Since 1854, the Sisters of the Humility of Mary have provided housing, education and healthcare services for children, immigrants, refugees and the elderly.
Humility of Mary Housing (HMH) serves as one of many expressions of the mission of the Sisters of "bringing abundant life to God’s people, especially the poor.”
HMH traces its history and commonly held values back to the unified mission of the Sisters of the Humility of Mary.
Priorities
It takes more than providing a home to end homelessness. That’s why Humility of Mary Housing strives to extend opportunity and hope to those in need.
Through our Caring Compass program, we concentrate on achieving four major outcomes: (1) Avoid a return to homelessness (2) Obtain educational and job training skills necessary to achieve and maintain independence (3) Increase employment opportunities leading to enhanced financial well-being and (4) Achieve better physical and mental health.
OUR MISSION STATEMENT:
Humility of Mary Housing promotes and strengthens the self-sufficiency of individuals and families,
especially the poor, through advocacy, supportive services and quality housing.
